We spent three wonderful nights at the Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of our trip. The resort has a truly relaxing vibe, with a beautiful, inviting pool at its heart—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. What really stood out was the warmth and professionalism of the reception staff. A special shoutout to Marissa, who went above and beyond when we faced a hiccup with our booking (accidentally cancelled by our travel agent). Not only did she resolve the issue swiftly, but she also upgraded us to a stunning room with a pool view, ensuring we felt welcomed and cared for. Her kindness set the tone for our entire stay. The breakfast spread was fantastic—elaborate, fresh, and well-managed. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, courteous, and eager to help. Location-wise, it couldn’t get better. The hotel is just a short walk from the Esplanade, with its buzzing atmosphere and scenic waterfront, and very close to the reef terminal—ideal for anyone planning Great Barrier Reef tours. Restaurants, cafes, and shops are all within 300–500 meters, making it an extremely convenient base. The resort is not only beautiful and well-maintained, but also offers an unbeatable combination of comfort, service, and accessibility. Highly recommended for couples, families, or anyone looking to explore Cairns in style and ease.

Truly disgusting. The tables and there were at least 10 of them not cleared. Mess and food scraps everywhere. No staff to be found and when we did order it took 15 minutes as only 2 people were on. The order was taken WRONG and it took another 10 minutes to resolve the issue. When the meal came out ... Baby Barramundi .. it was SO dry and inedible and the steak well done not medium. MY RECOMMENDATION.... DONT EAT HERE. EVEN 1/2 PRICE DINING FOR ACCOR MEMBERS WHICH WE ARE WAS NOT WORTH IT.... FOR A NOVATEL HOTEL THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND AN EMBARRASSMENT TO THE CHAIN

The air con in the room was very noisy and did not work as room was always hot. Pillows terrible with no support. Even after asking at reception we just received more of the same. Fight by the sunbeds that involved the police being called out. Problem with over charging on drinks / surcharge on happy hour being charged at 15% of the full price and not the happy hour cost. Some of the senior staff are very unaccommodating, as we are a platinum member of this group. Brandy and Mushroom sauce was ‘claggy’ and hadn’t seen brandy in its life. The sun beds are as uncomfortable and seem to have given me a rash on my arms and legs. The beds need to be fumigated at worst, replaced at best.

Rooms/facilities/food and customer service are excellent. We don’t have young kids but they went above and beyond to provide Easter fun for the kids staying here. The pool bar and pool area are the highlight. Busy but that gives a good vibe to the place. I’ve been here before and will be back again. Weather was great as well.

Easter is always a busy time of year in hospitality and 2025 at the Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort was no exception. But amidst the noise and excitement of an extremely busy breakfast session a strong beacon of light shone through. Mel, who was the host, meeting and greeting people superbly installed a sense of order and purpose in the dining room. It was amazing to watch how she split tables, joined tables and organised things to accommodate different sized groups. Busy it certainly was but things ran very smoothly. It was fascinating to watch the whole team and the way they worked together so effectively and efficiently.
