Craig, our valet, made us feel like we were coming to his home. His warmth and hospitality was so sincere and kind. Oliver at front desk welcomed us in such a heartfelt way. Made us feel so special and went out of his way to make sure our accommodations were superb. He is so amazing. Jason and Cassius at the bar (38 North) made wonderful suggestions and connected with each of us which made all 4 of us feel so special. And their recommendations and knowledge was outstanding. At Sante, the hostess Marina was extremely friendly and accommodating. While our server, Dennis was a wealth of knowledge and so incredibly kind and patient with us. The overall experienced was enhanced greatly by one of the food and beverage managers, Gabriel. His wine knowledge was astounding and his gift for hospitality was so evident. He made us all feel so welcome and so special. At breakfast, we were lucky enough to have both Bella and Beatriz for our servers. They explained the menu to us and treated us with such kindness and seemed genuinely happy to offer their services to us. The hostess Lynn was equally as hospitable and took time to make us feel very comfortable and appreciated. The resort spa was so perfect. We enjoyed a full day there and Katelyn was absolutely unmatched. She was so friendly and always had a smile on her face. She gives the entire spa area such a warm and inviting feeling and it did not go unnoticed. Ferrara at the spa was also amazing. He was so attentive to everything. Polishing our sunglasses, making sure we weee supplied with towels for comfort and cushions to sit on while at the pool. Such a gentleman with a true gift for hospitality. I just want to say thank you. To all of you for giving us the most beautiful experience and making all of us feel so special while we were at such a special and beautiful resort.

Excelent experience at this Hotel

From the very beginning we were met by 5 star staff, there were a couple of big events going on at the same time but we never felt like we were being treated like second place. The gentleman in valet (didn't get his name), Sandy, the very nice woman that gave us the first taste of complimentary bubbly wine, the front desk agent Oliver, to the restaurant manager Suzy Goodacre who we happened to meet when we were lost and couldn't find our room, she personally took us there. Some other notable staff who genuinely seemed to love their job and were thankful to be working here were: Hostess Lynn, Our servers Beatriz and Azucena, busboys Fortino and Marcos, the Concierge director Cameron, and general manager Kareem who is truely a humble person, telling us that if he were missing, the hotel would still run but without his valuable staff, it would not. Especially notable, Ann Ellsworth, the gardener who personally took the time to perform concierge services and get us going in a fun direction. Thank You! We definitely would visit the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn again!

It was honestly not a good experience. . We had initially booked a hotel spa package but then could only get a massage Appointment on checkout date which we were told “late checkout not a problem” well it was. While have breakfast on the patio housekeeping was started blowing the upper patio which didn’t make patio dining pleasant. There was a constant flow of carts in front of the patio soooo absolutely NOT private… btw.. cancelled the massage appointment since we couldn’t get a late checkout and they refused ANY type of credit. I absolutely would NOT recommend this hotel experience to anyone. I will say housekeeping and food delivery staff were pleasant.

Historic experience but mass market

Interesting historic main building and feel consistent with the fairmont brand. Room was clean but overall the hotel feels mass market and tired (smells of stale smoke, carpets and chairs are tattered and stained, historic room decor is a bit too trendy dated). Room was perfectly clean. Pool was small, crowded and had annoying loud music. Location was a bit decentralized so not super cute or walkable and felt further afield. You have to pay to use spa pools. If you’re looking for an upscale more intimate experience this won’t be it.

This is my first stay at Fairmont Sonoma. The main lobby of hotel was nice, but some part of the hotel looks dated , need maintenance! Found out there is a happy hour from 3-6 weekend to use the spa for $49. It was really worth it and we enjoy it very much. Our stay included breakfast which is very nice, the pancake is so… good. Overall, it’s a relaxing weekend trip .
