Lovely rooms with tiny bathrooms

Very luxurious hotel, with what you would expect from a Fairmont. Surprisingly, the bathrooms are very small which is not what would be expected. The bar was excellent and with a very buzzy atmosphere. The Gold amenities are ok but not sure if worth the upgrade. The hotel is out of town with about a 15 minute walk although a shuttle bus runs quite frequently. The free passes for all the public buses are great and a good way to get around Banff.

We were wowed from check-in when we were gifted a complimentary upgrade - the room & views was gorgeous! All staff were friendly & helpful. We had drinks and ate in Rundle bar and Grapes and the food was delicious in both. The pools were superb Fairmont Banff Springs is a special place and will stay in our memories for a long time.

Absolutely once in a lifetime experience on so many levels. 10/10 would highly recommend! Andrea in the Gold Lounge made our stay beyond beautiful, truly she helped us find the most comfortable room and is an absolutely exceptional presence at this property. Tina in the Gold Lounge made every morning a treat with her beautiful smile and outstanding coffee. Eat at 1888 inside the hotel for an amazing Alberta beef experience. Morgan was our server and his humble wit was matched by his gorgeous smile. A must see, do, and go!

Historic luxe in a majestic setting

We stayed at the storied Fairmont Banff Springs as one leg of a ski trip to the Canadian Rockies. We booked the Gold Concierge floor which provides a private lounge with an extensive breakfast buffet as well as snacks in the late afternoon. The room was fairly small but luxe. I wasn't able to ski while there, so hit the spa which was lovely with a great array of water features to use while at the spa. Very historic and special place.

My husband and I picked this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary and have no regrets!! Service: 10/10. From the second you step on the Fairmount’s ground, the staff is kind and ready to assist. We were upgraded to a suite (Room 211) which includes the VIP service. The VIP team responded so fast to text messages within minutes and really cared about meeting our needs. Room service was fast and reliable. (Special shoutout to Jack at reception who was so sweet and just genuinely happy to have us stay at the hotel!) Restaurants: Castello Italiana: 10/10. We absolutely loved this restaurant. The food was delicious, the ambience was quaint and the service was one of the best we’ve ever had (Special shoutout to Randy and our AMAZING waiter David. I wish all waiters were like David; and Randy if you are reading this, we tried your recommendations at the bar and love them!!) The Vermillion Room: 8/10. We had breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is good. Dinner is ok. Our breakfast waiter, Matthew, went above and beyond. He told us all about the Fairmount exclusive coffee; which was honestly some of the best coffee we ever had. Tours: we did the Hotel History Tour, the Surprise Corner Tour and the Twilight Tour. They were all excellent! Some of the information on the tour overlaps a bit but overall loved hearing all the facts about the hotel and wildlife. (A special shoutout goes to the tour guide whose name unfortunately we can’t remember… he is from New Zealand) Random Notes: they will give you free water bottles at no charge; the stay comes with free bus vouchers; the bar food is very fancy, maybe too fancy. Overall, we would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a truly special experience.
