Poor service not recommended

The service was poor and unprofessional. In the evening, we asked the front desk if they had an HDMI cable so we could connect our laptop to the TV and watch a movie. A staff member said they should have one and that she would go find it for us. We waited for an hour but no one ever came back, nor did we receive any update. Eventually, we called the front desk ourselves, only to be told that the staff member had gone to check but couldn’t find one. We were very frustrated — we wouldn’t have minded if it wasn’t available, but at the very least they should have informed us so we could make alternative entertainment plans, instead of wasting an hour waiting in vain. Their response was a dismissive apology with no real effort to solve the issue. Parking was also a major problem. We arrived at 4:00 PM specifically to secure a spot in the hotel parking. At that time, there were still spaces available, but the staff refused to let us park there. They insisted we use an external parking lot. Since we were driving a Tesla and didn’t carry the physical car key, we offered to authorise digital key access through our phone to the valet. They also refused. In the end, we had to park at Downtown Carpark and paid $28 for one night — and we even left early the next morning. Overall, not recommended. None of the staff showed any willingness to help or solve problems — they just kept pushing the responsibility back to the guest. For the same price, you’re better off staying at another five-star hotel where the service and experience actually match the rating.

Your comments regarding the HDMI cable request and communication from our team are noted, and I agree — we should have updated you sooner rather than leaving you waiting without a clear response. We’re currently in the process of upgrading all our in-room entertainment systems to include Chromecast functionality, which will allow guests to easily stream content from their personal devices. This update will be rolled out in the coming weeks to improve convenience and avoid situations like the one you experienced. With regard to the parking, I understand your disappointment. Our valet team must follow certain security protocols, especially when it comes to digital vehicle access, but I do appreciate that this impacted your overall experience. We’ll be reviewing how we communicate these processes with guests moving forward to ensure greater clarity and flexibility where possible. While this stay fell short of your expectations, I do hope you’ll consider visiting us again so we can deliver the high standard of service we’re proud to offer. Warm regards, Sean Slattery

Not at all up to Accor standard

Staff had no idea about Accor membership! Told us the 1/2 price meals were for 1 member only. Restaurant charged us full price, had no idea we were members, should have come up on their computer?? Accor and Movenpick need to make sure hotel staff are trained properly!

We absolutely value our ALL – Accor Live Limitless members and want every benefit to be applied correctly. That said, in line with the program’s terms and conditions, guests are required to present their membership card prior to dining to ensure the discount is applied. This process is in place because, unfortunately, we do encounter situations where guests request the benefit after the fact, which makes it difficult to verify eligibility. I do apologise if this wasn’t clearly communicated to you at the time, that’s something we’ll review with the team. We are also reinforcing training around Accor membership recognition to prevent similar issues in future. Thank you again for your loyalty to Accor. Good hotel

Good hotel as with location as its very centrally located. Shopping , harbour all nearby. Also lovated near the Skytower. Lots of restaurants nearby and they also provide parking with charges. This is the Main area of Auckland and very kind staff

My friend booked us in here because she loved the idea of chocolate hour and Ice cream which she understood to be free and available 24 hours. We arrived and were greeted very nicely. Chocolate hour was great (I am not a big chocolate lover but my friend is) they had Easter macrons which were chocolate but also hot cross bun flavoured! The rooms were well set out but very cold even with the thermostat set to 30 degrees (C) There was a vent that seems to have cold air coming in directly from outside and we couldn't sit at the desk without freezing. After falling outside and hurting myself we went back to the hotel and asked for an ice pack (something that we would have expected any hotel or business to have as part of a safe workplace) and were told that they don't have one, so i resorted to a wet cold flannel which didn't really do the job. Hotel staff were always friendly but at times seemed out of their depth.
